Cutting Room, NY has hired editor Jamie Connors. He comes to Cutting Room after serving as an in-house editor at McCann Erickson, where he cut campaigns for such clients as Verizon FIOS, MasterCard, Sony Ericsson and Joe’s Crab Shack. Connors has an in-depth perspective on agency processes and sharp instincts as an editor that will allow him to cut a wide variety of styles.

“There is no one out there like him,” said Cutting Room managing partner Susan Willis. “His talent is fiery and real. We are so happy to be able to bring him up.”

“I knew several editors at Cutting Room and everyone always spoke so highly of the company and the culture,” said Connors. “It’s so great to join a company that is truly dedicated to growing the junior talent and sharing their insight.”

Brooklyn-native Connors earned a degree in communications at Goucher College before returning to the city, where he landed an internship at McCann Erickson. His six years as an editor at the agency allowed him to work on a number of campaigns.

Vicon Introduces Mobile Mocap at SIGGRAPH

1
Motion capture systems developer Vicon is previewing a futuristic new “Mobile Mocap” technology at SIGGRAPH 2011 in Vancouver. Moving mocap out of the lab and into the field, Vicon's Mobile Mocap system taps several new technologies, many years in the making. At the heart of Mobile Mocap is a very small lipstick-sized camera that enables less obtrusive, more accurate facial animation data. The new cameras capture 720p (1280X720) footage at 60 frames per second. In addition, a powerful processing unit synchronizes, stores, and wirelessly transmits the data, all in a tiny wearable design.
