Motion Picture, Television Fund Holding Food Distribution for Out-of-Work Industry Workers on Aug. 24

-

In response to the ongoing work stoppage impacting many in the entertainment industry, the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF) will host a drive-thru food distribution event to serve out-of-work entertainment industry workers impacted by the ongoing strikes.

WHEN:

Thursday, August 24th
Food Drive: 10 a.m. PST – 1 p.m. PST
Media Check-in Available beginning at 9AM

WHERE: MPTF Campus: 23388 Mulholland Drive, Woodland Hills, CA 91364

Please RSVP to Katie Kornfield at [email protected] today if planning to attend tomorrow’s event or have any questions.

Media Check-In: Traffic control volunteers will be posted to assist media in getting around the blind corner of the parking lot to media check-in which will be facing El Canon just outside of CBH (Building 28).

Due to the sensitivity of the event, we ask that you not approach the cars in-line for food or product pick-up. At the media check-in tent, we can connect you with Teamsters and IATSE members or Leadership for interviews.

MPTF: Donation of campus and staff to organize event.

Teamsters & IATSE: Union members volunteering onsite to support fellow union brothers and sisters picking up donated items.

Vicon Introduces Mobile Mocap at SIGGRAPH

1
Motion capture systems developer Vicon is previewing a futuristic new “Mobile Mocap” technology at SIGGRAPH 2011 in Vancouver. Moving mocap out of the lab and into the field, Vicon's Mobile Mocap system taps several new technologies, many years in the making. At the heart of Mobile Mocap is a very small lipstick-sized camera that enables less obtrusive, more accurate facial animation data. The new cameras capture 720p (1280X720) footage at 60 frames per second. In addition, a powerful processing unit synchronizes, stores, and wirelessly transmits the data, all in a tiny wearable design.
