Personally, I think both sides should take the blame. If only both sides would have spent as much time and money on research and negotiating as they have on throwing fits and name-calling. Both sides have been acting like children. It's shameful. While they are busy slinging mud, there are many many more BTL folks like me trying to figure out how I'm going to make rent next month, as I don't qualify for the Actors Fund or the Motion Picture Television Fund (I've only been in the business for 3 years). And I don't want a loan from the WGA. It seems to me that putting myself more in debt when I can't pay the bills I have now is a bad bad bad idea.

I hope the WGA and AMPTP can continue this new recent trend of acting like grown adults so that we can ALL get back to work.

In fairness, Pat, the Producers "left early" during that last round of "negotiations" as well, and then held out for both the DGA agreement (which they have) and the "Force Majeure" provisions to kick in, so they could indeed jettison all those TV deals.

now that both those things have happened, we can hope a real deal is imminent.

Though, yes, it would also have been nice if the WGA had started the whole negotiation process months before the contract ran out...

How can it NOT be the WGA's fault we are all out of work? You left early negotiations and "wreaked havoc" on tinseltown. You writers are such hypocrites!
