Nice post Denise!

I really hope the WGA stops seeking "respect" as the film business is a thankless job and anyone whos involved knows that. The DGA has done good by all and hopefully the WGA can learn a thing or two.

Make no mistake it took longer then 6 days to make this deal...DGA has performed good business practice by creating a committee of 50 people to handle this years contracts. They have been informally in talks for 2 years regarding New Media..and they had been very respectful to the WGA by giving them time to try and settle with AMPTP before they started formal talks of their own. They even issued a formal letter stating that they would be respectful to the WGA & SAG situation and their present contract issues. Not seeking rock star status or looking for industry havoc to get what they wanted in these contracts. The DGA has been well calculated and considerate to the entire Industry not selling out on the Industry or them selves. They preformed nothing less then good business practice.

I understand that everyone hope this is a good step forward in new media and that everyone is hoping it serves as a platform in which the WGA & SAG can build on. Possibly help finalize this strike madness...I hope this as well, but more so..I hope that the DGA's example of proper business practice will serve as a blue print in all future contracts for our Industry. Contracts handel in a manner that would gain complete respect of the entire industry, rather then the wga's leader aka" Rock Star " unthoughtful Industry Havoc!!

With much thanks to the DGA and their Committee

600dude, the writers wouldn't have needed even 6 days if they wanted to just roll over and take a deal that's unacceptable to both them and SAG. But there really doesn't seem to be much point in that. If they accept this deal, SAG will still have to go out.
