Very good points about Wesson's assembly years, BP! I hope I didn't infer Wesson was somehow not capable simply because his current council district isn't production "ground zero" in L.A.

His interest, in fact, reveals that the entire town has a stake in seeing this settled quickly, and fairly.

Herb Wesson's precinct did cover the Westside or at least Culver City (Sonytown) when he was an assemblyman in the State Assembly and was Speaker for a term. He's a smart man, personable and not at all ignorant about the industry. He was termed out by the assembly, not voted out so you shouldn't put it against him that his current city council district is not industry central. He's got more clout than the average city council member that no one's ever heard of because of his prior experience.
